Use of Funds: All funds raised are used 100% to benefit the students of the Towanda Area School District.  No director or officer is compensated for time or personal expense doing Foundation work.  Our donations to the district are meant to supplement programs of the school district.

The Following Absorb Most Of Our Funds And Time:

  • Student Scholarship:  We have many scholarships flowing through the Foundation.  Most are given at graduation time as a one-time payment but can involve multiple payments such as for each year of college.  Scholarships are set up for many reasons:  memorials, specific college majors, etc.  Several local businesses are also providing scholarships through the Foundation.  

  • Venture Grants:  The Foundation awards Venture Grants for innovative learning projects throughout the district.  These are instructional grants for the most part with an award of up to $1,000 each.  These are competitive grants.  The Foundation generally awards at least ten of these per year, but we have more requests than we can fund.  Please consider becoming a sponsor of this program.  More in-depth information can be found in each issue of the Accolade newsletter printed twice a year and included on this website: Newsletter

The Foundation also uses funds received to pay for the general operating costs such as auditing, printing, mailing and labor.
