Mrs. Rebecca Stanfield, principal of Towanda Junior/Senior High School, announced today that Kaigan Stroop and Erica Locke have been named as this year’s Rochester Institute of Technology Innovation and Creativity Award winners.

Rensselaer Medal

Rensselaer Medal Awarded to Noah Poll

Mrs. Rebecca Stanfield, principal of Towanda Junior/Senior High School, announced today that Noah Poll has been named as this year’s Rensselaer Medalist. For more than 100 years, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute has awarded the Rensselaer Medal to high school students who have distinguished themselves in math and science. The award recognizes the superlative academic achievement of young men and women and seeks to motivate students toward careers in science, engineering, and technology.

Senior Prom

May the 4th Be With You prom will be held this Saturday, May 4th from 7-11 at the Towanda Area School District Old Gym. Guests will enjoy the night with light appetizers, great music, along with some special guests. Friends and family are invited to enjoy the crowning event at 10 pm. Prom is for Juniors and Seniors only with underclassmen as their guest. Out of school district guests MUST be pre-registered with the office. No tickets will be sold at the door.

Keystone Exams

Pennsylvania Keystone Exams will be administered to Towanda Junior/Senior High School students during the month of May. The Keystone Exams are end-of-course assessments designed to evaluate proficiency in academic content areas. Students will be offered multiple opportunities to take the Keystones throughout their high school careers. Students who scored Basic or Below Basic on any subject tested during a previous Keystone Exam Administration may be included in this test administration.

2019-2020 Season Sports Physicals June 5th

All students entering grades 7 - 12 the sports physicals will be on June 5, 2019, from 8:30 – 11:30 and 12:30 – 3:00 in the high school nurse’s office. The cost is $18.50, checks can be made payable to THS Athletic Dept. Paperwork is available in the school office or online.
Physicals will not be given without completed paperwork and payment.

Class of 2019 Graduation

Graduation will be held outside tonight at 7:00 PM.

PSSA and Keystone Testing Tips

With the PSSAs and Keystones coming up soon, (see dates below) we wanted to share some test-taking tips for our families on how students can do their best and limit stress.
It is important for your child to stay relaxed on the test day. Show your child that you are already proud of his/her work as a student. Tell them how smart you know he/she is. This will help build your child’s confidence.

PSSA Tips for Parents

PSSAs are scheduled for students in grades 3-8 during the month of April. As these tests approach, we want to share some test-taking tips for our families.
