[From PIAA] As the entire nation is trying to navigate through this difficult time we as an association believe that it is very important to stay positive. All of the 316,500 student-athletes across the commonwealth have been affected by COVID-19. As you try to make sense of the sudden stop of your athletic activities; we reached out to the leadership students who attended the NFHS Leadership Summit last year to provide their feedback on the current situation. Through their messages, we want to let all student-athletes know that we are in this together and will come back even stronger.

Mr. Werner continues to do excellent things within our musical department. He is currently in his 15th year with the district and has made a tremendous impact on our past and present students. Seen here is Mr. Werner incorporating some guitar lessons into his 8th-grade music class.

Towanda Jr/Sr High School's Governor's STEM team placed first at a local competition with their project, the "Snow Buggy", a robotic snow plowing machine. The team will be competing in the state competition in Harrisburg in May. Team members Hannah Ryck, Kaigan Stroop, Noah Poll, and John Schoonover.

On Monday, January 27th, students in grades 8 - 11 were invited to attend an elective fair in the old gym to learn about options for the 2020-21 school year. Teachers and current students in the elective courses provided valuable information to students about what each individual elective course(s) would consist of. Students then attended a scheduling meeting with the guidance counselors on Wednesday, January 29th to receive course selection sheets and learn more about the course offerings for the 2020-21 school year. Students are asked to return the completed selection forms to the guidance office by Tuesday, February 4th. Parents who have any questions are encouraged to contact the guidance office.

The Towanda Chapter of the National Honor Society got in the holiday spirit this year by helping the Salvation Army. Students could be seen bell ringing at Hurley’s Super Market and helping to sort, package and hand out gifts for their Angel Tree Program. The Towanda Chapter tries to do this every year spreading the holiday spirit and joy throughout the community.
