Towanda High School Students Tour Panda Liberty Power Plant

Plant General Manager Jack Monahon started the tour with a presentation about how the engines and generator operate. Students then toured the plant, where they were able to see the control room, go into the turbine hall, the engine room, and see the generator working. Afterward, students had the opportunity to ask questions of Mr. Monahon and Don, one of the shift supervisors. Students spent about an hour asking questions about careers, plant operations, and the mechanical workings they saw on the tour.

This field trip was possible due to a grant from the Towanda Education Foundation intended to give students exposure to local industries.
