Towanda High School’s FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) members have faced a lot of change this year just like sports teams and other school clubs due to COVID. One of the perks of the FBLA club is getting to attend regional, state, and national conferences where students test in a business-related subject to try to qualify for states and then hopefully move on to nationals. It is a great club that allows students to network with other students from other schools while building their business background and knowledge.

Jr/Sr High School - Virtual on Friday, Oct 30th

Hello, this is Mr. Peachey. I am calling to let you know that the Jr/Sr High School will have a virtual day tomorrow. We had a cafeteria staff member test positive for Covid-19 today. We are going to thoroughly clean the kitchen area tomorrow and begin contact tracing. Although I do not feel that any students would be close contacts at this point, I do not want to bring my cafeteria staff together until we get more information. Jr/Sr High School students should attend their regular B day classes virtually tomorrow through zoom. Please don't worry if you do not have a particular book or resource, our teachers will be understanding. But, you must attend your classes virtually. Northern Tier Career Center students should also attend those classes virtually tomorrow. This virtual day will be for Friday, October 30th only at this point. Together with the weekend and the Act 80 day on Monday, this will give us time to look at our cafeteria staff situation. J. Andrew Morrow is not impacted by this and will run as normal tomorrow. I will post this and any additional information on our website and Facebook pages. Thanks for your patience and understanding with this.
Parent Conferences Letter

2020/21 Parent Conferences

The Towanda Area School District would like to make you aware that beginning with the 2020/2021 school year we will be altering the way we conduct parent/teacher conferences. Conferences will be held on two separate days, November 2 and March 22. These are Act 80 days, and students do not have school. We felt it was important to add a conference day in the spring closer to the end of the school year. Fifteen-minute time slots will be available on both days from 8:00 AM – 6:15 PM. For the November 2 date, we are asking that the conferences be held via zoom or phone call due to Covid-19 concerns. In-person conferences can be held if absolutely necessary, with masks and social distancing followed. We will reevaluate the situation leading up to the March 22 date. If you have an issue with either of those dates or the time frame, please contact your child’s school. We will do our best to accommodate any scheduling conflicts.

Conferences with your child’s teacher(s) can be scheduled by calling the building they attend. The numbers are as follows:

2020 Color Run

The 5th Annual Senior Class Color Run is coming up on Sunday, October 11, starting at 10:00 AM, at the Towanda Elementary School parking lot. The cost is $30 for an individual runner/walker. If you form a team, you pay $30 for the first runner/walker, and $22.50 for each additional. Registration fee will get you a t-shirt and a color packet for the start of the race.
