Keystone Exams Pennsylvania Keystone Exams will be administered to Towanda Junior/Senior High School students during the month of January. The Keystone Exams are end-of course assessments designed to evaluate proficiency in academic content areas. Beginning with the class of 2017, students must demonstrate proficiency on the Algebra 1, Literature, and Biology Keystone Exams to graduate. Students will be offered multiple opportunities to take the Keystones throughout their high school careers. The Keystone Exams will replace the 11th grade PSSA tests in math, reading, and science.
Financial Aid Night The Towanda High School Guidance Office will sponsor a Financial Aid Information Night on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. in the Towanda Junior Senior High School Auditorium.
Fruit Orders D.C. Trip fruit orders will be distributed tomorrow, Wednesday, December 4th. Students must have a car or truck to pick up their orders.
Senior Class of 2014 Presents Class Play The Senior Class of 2014 will present their annual class play, “Bergeracky,” on November 21st, 22nd, and 23rd at 7:00 P.M. in the auditorium at the high school. The book for “Bergeracky” was written by Flip Kobler and Cindy Marcus, music is by Dennis Poore, and lyrics by Flip Kobler.
ADLI Hosts Tim Rader - Live to Tell On Wednesday November 13th the Towanda Black Knights ADLI proudly welcomed Mr. Tim Rader. Tim’s story is one of addiction and the dangers that addiction harbors. While meeting with the ADLI, Tim discussed leadership as it pertained to his life in high school, college, through athletics and academics and lastly in the workforce. He also shared some of his shortcomings as a leader in all of the previously mentioned areas. Following the morning session, Tim was able to tell his story to the entire student body of nearly 750 students. ADLI Student, Dayton Wickwire along with the entire ADLI group stood at the front of the stage and introduced Mr. Rader.
Forensic League Recognition Towanda Jr./Sr. High is proud to announce that our Speech and Debate Program has earned significant recognition by the National Forensic League.
2013 Renaissance Fair This year the Towanda Student Council hosted its annual Renaissance Fair on October 18, 2013.
Military Appreciation Night The Towanda Area School District will proudly host Military Appreciation Night tonight, October 4th, at the Mifflinburg - Towanda Football Game. The Black Knights will wear special uniforms for the game. All military veterans will be recognized during the game along with other special activities. Please come out and support the Black Knights as they honor our local military heroes at Military Appreciation Night.
