This presentation, for ages 12 and above, is about the inspiring story of Rachel Scott, whose example of kindness and acceptance was brought to light after she became the first victim of the Columbine High School tragedy. Learn how Rachel’s Challenge is positively impacting K-12 classroom climate, culture and Social/Emotional Learning with powerful and sustainable life-changing programs.

Mrs. Rebecca Stanfield, Principal of Towanda Junior/Senior High School, announced today that Isaac Pelka has been named as this year’s Rensselaer Medalist.

We had 90 people walk on the last event of the year.

Prom will be held Saturday, May 5th at the Towanda High School’s old gym from 7-11 pm. Non-Towanda guests must be preregistered and show ID. Prom is for Juniors and Seniors with underclassmen guests. Guests will enjoy entertainment by Ultimate Sound DJ Service, Photography by Jody Garris, heavy appetizers, and a free photo booth. Formal attire is required, no jeans or hats. Court crowning will take place at 10pm, friends and family of the court will be allowed in at 9:55. Hannah Tavani and Meghan Mendler advanced to Quarterfinals in News broadcasting and Whitney Madill went to semifinals in Informative Speaking at the Pennsylvania High School Speech League State Championships at Bloomsburg University.
Coleman Butler competed in Impromptu Speaking. Lucy Fink represented Towanda in Congressional Debate.

On Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018, our senior high Scholarship Challenge team, captained by Ethan Jones with team members David Boardman, Dalton Carey, and Cameron Wood answered questions including the 8th Amendment, football scores, math, and the name of the commerce giant who recently acquired Whole Foods! Alternates Zach Sims and Aaron Trybula were unable to attend.

Ms. Doerner’s Sports Management and Marketing Class at Towanda High School participated with the Towanda School District Safety Committee for the second year in a Safety Slogan Project. Teams of students presented their Safety Slogan Project and posters to Safety Committee members. The committee scored the students on several aspects of the project to determine the overall winning team. Every team did an excellent job creating slogans, logos and messages for student and staff safety. Posters created by the teams will be in each building and used to remind students and staff to be safe. Winning team members are David Boardman and Nick O’Connor.
