Towanda Area Jr/Sr High News

Pennsylvania Keystone Exams will be administered to Towanda Junior/Senior High School students during the month of December. The Keystone Exams are end-of-course assessments designed to evaluate proficiency in academic content areas. Beginning with the class of 2020, students must demonstrate proficiency on the Algebra 1, Literature, and Biology Keystone Exams to graduate. Students will be offered multiple opportunities to take the Keystones throughout their high school careers.

On Saturday, October 7th National Honor Society students from Towanda Junior/Senior High School volunteered at the Monroeton Hose Company. About 20 students volunteered their Saturday to help paint the outside of the fire company. The students did a great job and had fun helping members of our community. The National Honor Society would like to thank the Monroeton Fire Company for the opportunity to perform community service and bring our organization closer together.

Coming soon to Towanda will be the area’s second Color Run sponsored by the Towanda Class of 2018! Come one and all and join the fun!

The October Walk to School event had 94 students plus parents and employees participate this month. Each student received a pedometer from the Building Healthy Schools Grant. Preston Rogers represented the Black Knight Football Team in the walk this month.
