On April 21, 2017, fifth graders from Towanda Area Elementary School took part in Conservation Day to help celebrate Earth Day.

Dan Rhodes from Bradford County Conservation District recently came to visit the Towanda Area Elementary School third graders. His visit was to help the students celebrate Earth Day.

On Tuesday, April 11th, 2017 first graders at J. Andrew Morrow participated in a Sock Hop organized by their teachers and funded by the Parent Teacher Organization or PTO.

There was a great turnout for the April Walk to School event on Wednesday, April 5th. Join us for the last Walk to School on Wednesday, May 3rd.

Our local VFW, Beirne-Webster Post 1568, sponsors an essay contest that is conducted nationwide. Students are given an opportunity to write essays expressing their views on an annual patriotic theme. This year Patriot’s Pen theme was “The America I Believe In”, which is for students in grades 6 through 8. The theme for the Voice of Democracy essay contest, for students in grades 9-12, was “My Responsibility to America”. Students write their essays as part of their English classes.
