Towanda Area Elementary PSSA Testing

The spring 2018 Pennsylvania System of School Assessments (PSSA) will be administered to Towanda Elementary School students during the month of April, 2018. All students in grades 3 - 6 will be participating in the assessment. Testing will begin each morning at 8:45 a.m. The length of testing will be approximately 60 minutes.

MISCONDUCT OF SUBSTITUTE TEACHER

Earlier in the year, the Towanda Area School District Administration was contacted by several concerned parents and students regarding alleged rumors of misconduct between a substitute teacher and students. In conjunction with the authorities, we have thoroughly investigated the allegations. The district will not be sharing any additional details regarding the outcome of the investigation at this time since the allegations involve students.

Meet the Coach

We will have the "Meet the Coach Night" for girls soccer this Wednesday, April 4 at 7pm in the Old Auditorium.

Winter Sports Awards

The Winter Sports Award Program is scheduled for Monday, March 26th at 7 PM in the high school auditorium for those students who participated in a JV or Varsity winter sport. Following the awards, pizza will be provided by the Towanda Booster Club.

Addiction Awareness Poster

An Evening of Addiction Awareness

The Endless Mountains Addiction Awareness Committee (EMAAC) and CASA-Trinity present "An Evening Of Addiction Awareness". Please join us for the fascinating one hour film "Pleasure Unwoven" followed by a panel discussion with Q&A time. We have teamed with the BCRAC and WEBO to offer this event free of charge including complimentary popcorn and soda. All are welcome. Bring the whole family!

Troops to Teachers

The Troops-to-Teachers program is a national program sponsored by the US Department of Defense to provide eligible veterans with assistance in entering the teaching profession.

Scheduling Meetings held for the 2018-19 School Year

Students in grades 8 - 11 attended scheduling meetings on Thursday, February 15th and were given information to take home to parents for review. Course selection sheets are due back in the guidance office by Friday, February 23rd. Students or parents with questions are encouraged to contact the guidance office.

Elective Fair to be Held

On Friday, February 9th, students in grades 8 - 11 will be invited to attend an Elective Fair to provide students with more information prior to selecting courses for the 2018-2019 school year. Scheduling meetings will then be held on Thursday, February 15.
