Hannah Tavani and Whitney Madill, Towanda Area School District Forensics students presented to the School Board on Monday night. The students qualified to go to Forensics Nationals.

Mrs. Rebecca Stanfield, Principal of Towanda Junior/Senior High School, announced today that Hannah Tavani and Nathaniel Smith have been named as this year’s Rochester Institute of Technology Computing Medal Award winners.

Such a great birthday surprise for Logan and his buddy Branson this morning. His Mom, Taran Carlisle, won the fire truck ride to school at the Black Knight Bash and surprised him this morning. Thank you Taran for supporting the Towanda Area Education Foundation and a big thank you to Chili Roof and the Towanda Fire Department for their continued support.

We had 90 people walk on the last event of the year.

Our local VFW, Beirne-Webster Post 1568, sponsors an essay contest that is conducted nationwide. Students are given an opportunity to write essays expressing their views on an annual patriotic theme. This year Patriot’s Pen theme was “America’s Gift to My Generation”, which is for students in grades 6 through 8. The theme for the Voice of Democracy essay contest, for students in grades 9-12, was “American History: Our Hope for the Future”. Students write their essays as part of their English classes.
