Safety Slogan Teams

Safety Slogan Project

Ms. Doerner’s Sports Management and Marketing Class at Towanda High School participated with the Towanda School District Safety Committee for the second year in a Safety Slogan Project. Teams of students presented their Safety Slogan Project and posters to Safety Committee members. The committee scored the students on several aspects of the project to determine the overall winning team. Every team did an excellent job creating slogans, logos and messages for student and staff safety. Posters created by the teams will be in each building and used to remind students and staff to be safe. Winning team members are David Boardman and Nick O’Connor.

Elementary School Writing Contest

The Towanda Area Elementary School held a writing contest for each grade level. The students who had their writings selected were asked to read their piece at the Veterans assembly that was held on November 10th. In addition to the writing contest students were asked to bring in photographs of their relatives that have served or are serving in our United States Military. Photos that students brought in were added to a slide show that was shown at the beginning of the assembly.

Special Announcement

Saturday night we heard the extremely sad news that one of our 4th grade students died. This is the only information we have officially received on the circumstances surrounding the event. We are all saddened by his death and send our condolences to his family and friends. Crisis stations will be located throughout the school for students who wish to talk to a counselor. Sometimes it is very difficult to speak with children about grief. Please click on the link above for suggestions and support for families.
