Virtual Instruction Day Parent Letter Page 1

Weather Related Closures - Virtual Instruction Days

For the remainder of this school year, the district will implement virtual instruction days for any future weather-related closures. On these days, students will be expected to complete online assignments posted in Schoology. Teachers will be available to assist students from 9:00AM to 12:00PM, and from 1:00PM to 3:00PM, using email and Zoom. Students and parents who need assistance can contact teachers through email or Schoology messages.

FBLA

Towanda High School’s FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) members have faced a lot of change this year just like sports teams and other school clubs due to COVID. One of the perks of the FBLA club is getting to attend regional, state, and national conferences where students test in a business-related subject to try to qualify for states and then hopefully move on to nationals. It is a great club that allows students to network with other students from other schools while building their business background and knowledge.

2-Hour Delay - February 19th

Towanda Area School District parents and guardians, please be advised that the opening of school will be delayed by 2 hours today, February 19th. Your child should report to school between 9:45 AM and 10:00 AM. K 4 students will start school at 10:15 AM. Doors will be opened at 9:45 AM for students. Breakfast will not be available today.

Early Dismissal Change - Wednesday, February 17th

Wednesday, February 17th will NOT be an Early Dismissal Day. Students and families should plan for a full day of school and students should follow their normal schedule for this Wednesday.

The Towanda Area School District is scheduled for regular monitoring of special education programs and services. As part of the monitoring process parent input is requested. Please complete the survey by clicking on the link above.

2nd Marking Period Report Cards

Report cards for the 2nd marking period will be sent home with students at all grade levels on Wednesday, February 10th.

PUBLIC NOTICE

The Towanda Area School District Board of Education will meet for a Work Session for general purposes on Monday, February 8, 2021, at 7:00 PM in the board room of the Towanda Elementary School.
