Towanda Area Elementary News

The following is a list of recommended things to take to sixth grade camp. It is not necessary to take everything on the list and the list is not all-inclusive.

On Tuesday, the 5th Grade class toured the Northern Tier Career Center, where teachers and high school students gave them tours of the different technical fields they will have the opportunity to pursue when they get up to the high school. Most shops also had a practical demonstration or interactive element for students.

The Towanda Area School District is hosting Parent-Teacher Conferences on Monday, November 14 from 8:00AM-6:30PM. We are inviting parents of all students to meet with teachers to discuss their child’s progress. To schedule a conference, please call the school office.

Towanda Elementary would like to extend a big THANK YOU to the following local businesses and organizations for attending the Start Your Engines. . . A Vehicular Career Day at Towanda Elementary School! Students from 3rd and 4th grade were able to learn about careers that involved vehicles and equipment brought by: Northern Tier Solid Waste Authority, PennDOT, Bishop Brothers, First Energy Corp./Penelec, Guthrie Ambulance Services, Pennsylvania Game Warden, Bradford County Conservation District, and the Towanda Police Department. A big THANK YOU to all of the presenters for taking the time to share what they do with our students. We would also like to thank Representative Tina Pickett and Bradford County Commissioner John Sullivan for stopping in to see our students and presenters!

Students in 4th Grade took Friday afternoon to join together in reviewing and preparing for the upcoming Science PSSA.
They gathered facts and showcased their knowledge on various science topics using sidewalk chalk on our basketball court.

Wednesday, October 20th is National Unity Day. All staff and students of TASD will wear orange to show that TASD is a unified school district that promotes kindness, acceptance, and inclusion to prevent bullying.

We are pleased to inform you that Towanda Area School District will be participating in (CEP) known as the Community Eligibility Provision in the 2021/2022 school year. This program is available to schools and districts that are participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs.
