Towanda’s Senior Scholarship Challenge team will compete Saturday, March 15 at noon in the Patterson Auditorium on the Guthrie Campus in Sayre, next to the Guthrie Hospital.

The Spring 2014 Pennsylvania System of School Assessments (PSSA) will be administered to Towanda Junior/Senior High School students during the months of March and April, 2014.

The THS Drama Club will present the annual musical on Thursday, February 27th, Friday, February 28th, and Saturday, March 1st at 7:00 P.M. This year’s presentation will be “Legally Blonde: The Musical.” Cast members have been hard at work learning the songs and dances to delight the audience. Tickets will be on sale an hour prior to curtain time. Come and enjoy this fun show and show support for our students. Cast members include Alexis Torres, Ali Sparrow, Anna Fink, Blakely Watkins, Caroline Vana, Christian Braisted, Cory Schoonover, Emily Gorman, Erica Place, Ezoza Ismailova, Gabe Welty, Jake Ackley, Jordyn Russell-Mills, Katie Christian, Kayla Tolan, Kyra Brown, Laura Larcom, Marie Sarno, Mary Fink, Michael Sarno, Miranda Sarno, Rachel Dawsey, Richard Bailey, Sarah Davidson, Tyler Sheets, Justin Dickerson, Daniel Montonya, and Whitney Madill.

Towanda boys basketball will play Loyalsock in the District IV Semi-Final Tuesday, February 25th at Mansfield University with a 7:30pm tip time. The school will have a student fan bus with a cost of $3 per student. Pre-sale tickets are available at the high school office for $6 adult and $3 student. All tickets at the door will be $6. Come out and support the Towanda Black Knights!!

The Towanda Black Knights will host South Williamsport Thursday, February 20th at 7:00 PM. Pre-sale tickets are available in the High School office: $6 Adult and $3 Student. Let's pack the house to cheer on your Towanda Black Knights in the District IV Basketball Quarterfinals!

The Towanda High School Winter Sports Award Program is scheduled for Monday, March 24th at 6:30PM in the high school auditorium for those students who participated in a JV or Varsity winter sport. Following the awards pizza will be provided by the
Towanda Booster Club.

The following people were winners in the Chinese Auction at Thursday's Coaches VS Cancer wrestling match where the Black Knights defeated the NEB Panthers 73-3. The Towanda School District and Coaches VS Cancer would like to thank all businesses who sponsored the evenings events and those who purchased items. The winners for the evening were:

The Towanda High School Athletic Department, Athletic Directors Leadership Institute, winter sport coaches and teams have joined forces in a battle against cancer. Our Coaches Versus Cancer Nights will be as follows: Wrestling – 1/23, Boys Basketball – 1/27, Girls Basketball – 1/28 and Boys and Girls Swimming – 2/6. We are asking local businesses to aid in our fundraising efforts by donating products, goods or services. Your products will be awarded through a Chinese Auction, raffle or floor event.

Pennsylvania Keystone Exams will be administered to Towanda Junior/Senior High School students during the month of January. The Keystone Exams are end-of course assessments designed to evaluate proficiency in academic content areas. Beginning with the class of 2017, students must demonstrate proficiency on the Algebra 1, Literature, and Biology Keystone Exams to graduate. Students will be offered multiple opportunities to take the Keystones throughout their high school careers. The Keystone Exams will replace the 11th grade PSSA tests in math, reading, and science.
