TAES to Virtual Learning - 1/14/2021

This evening I received word that a second staff member at the Towanda Area Elementary School has tested positive for Covid-19.  In accordance with the school closure matrix, that building will move to remote instruction tomorrow (Thursday, January 14th).  The goal is to bring those students back in person on Tuesday, January 19th.  The J. Andrew Morrow and Jr/Sr High School buildings are not affected, and will remain in person.  Additional information will be provided on our website and Facebook pages tomorrow.  Thank you for you understanding with this matter.

2 Hour Delay - Monday, December 21st

Towanda Area School District parents and guardians, please be advised that the opening of school will be delayed by 2 hours tomorrow. Your child should report to school between 9:45 AM and 10:00 AM. K 4 students will start school at 10:15 AM. Doors will be opened at 9:45 AM for students. Breakfast will not be available tomorrow. Please note that busses will pick up in areas they can get to safely. Any student who cannot make it to school due to snow conditions, will be excused if a note is submitted stating this reason.

COVID Update 12/20/2020

The intent of this communication is to notify our school community of a recent Covid-19 situation involving a student within the district.

On December 19, 2020, we were notified that a student at the J. Andrew Morrow Primary (JAM) School has tested positive for COVID-19. The last day this individual was in school was Friday, December 11, 2020. In working with the Pennsylvania Department of Health, based on the onset of symptoms of this student, there are no potential close contacts within the J. Andrew Morrow building with this case.

The intent of this communication is to notify our school community of a recent Covid-19 situation involving a student within the district.

On December 16, 2020, we were notified that a student at the Jr/Sr High School has tested positive for COVID-19. The last day this individual was in school was Friday, December 11, 2020. Potential close contacts have been identified and informed to not return to school until approved to do so based on CDC and DOH quarantine guidelines.
