This idea came to reality when Mr. Strickland was inspired by a teacher who bought yearbooks for two students in 2015. Through school emails, he reached out to the school’s employees and school board with the idea of purchasing a yearbook for a student who may want one, but who cannot get one. Brooks Greenland, school board member, picked up the idea and passed it on to her audience on Facebook, which generated an overwhelming response of over fifty people from the community willing to help.
“On behalf of the entire yearbook staff, I would like to personally thank all people who bought a book for someone. This is a gift of a school time memory, not just any book.”
-Advisor and Art teacher Mr. Strickland
“When I heard the yearbook advisor was trying to reach a goal for his yearbook staff which included a certain number of yearbooks being sold I wanted to somehow help. I reached out to our generous community and alumni and received donations for 60 yearbooks! I can't thank these people enough for helping our yearbook staff reach their goal. This ensured that every graduating senior and others who normally would not get one received a yearbook.”
-Brooks Greenland, School Board member
