First Annual Black Knight Bash is a HUGE success for the Towanda Area Education Foundation

Proceeds from the Bash help fund the Foundation’s Venture Grant Programs, which are designed to provide teachers with the means to implement their “dream activities” in their classrooms.  The grants are competitive and must be innovative and enhance the curriculum. The program was initiated in the 2005/2006 school year and has gained popularity each year with an increase in teachers applying for the grants. Over the past 10 years, the Foundation has funded more than 100 grants, totaling over $100,000.

Jones Diner provided a buffet of tasty appetizers, including peel & eat shrimp, beef brisket sliders, pin wheel wraps, veggies and dip, fruit and dip, and much more.  Cookies were provided by Towanda School District.

Cocktail entertainment was provided by Towanda Alumni Hannah Primrose and her father, Brian Primrose. During this time guests could place their bids on several silent auction items available and also participate in heads and tails 50/50 and in the wheelbarrow of cheer raffle.  After the live auction, guest danced the night away to the sounds of Uncle Stosh’s Hardcore Pears.

The Foundation was flooded with compliments from guests on how much fun they had and how well the evening was planned. We look forward to this event growing larger every year!

Auctioneer, Theresa Burke of Shamrock Auction Services donated her services to help run our live auction.  Theresa’s assistance was greatly appreciated and she was a joy to work with and helped to keep everyone engaged in the auction.  Some the evening’s top auction items and the bids they drew are listed below:
