Towanda Jr. Sr. High School VFW Voice of Democracy and Patriot’s Pen Essay Winners

The themes were “Why veterans are important to our nation’s history and future” for the VOD and Patriot’s Pen, “Why I appreciate America’s veterans”. 

 

Students who participate have the opportunity to be awarded at the post level, district level, state and national levels. This year the VFW gave prizes totaling $3,620.  Pictured are this year’s winners.

 

Voice of Democracy winners are:

Katie Christian – 2nd Place

Laura Larcom – 3rd Place

 

Patriot’s Pen winners are:

Dempsey Flynn (St. Agnes) – 1st Place

Mercedes Miller – 2nd Place

Jesse Shoemaker – 3rd Place
