If you are applying for several scholarships, only one letter of application is needed listing the names of the scholarships for which you wish to be considered. You would also only need to provide one copy of the required information. If this letter indicates there is a separate application, the application is available in the Guidance Office. Please follow the instructions specific to each application. Remember, if you need to have a recommendation from a guidance counselor, please ask them in advance to write one. The amounts of the scholarships are subject to change. All information must be filed in the Guidance Office no later than Friday, May 8, 2015.
Winter Memorial Trust Award ($500): Available to a senior who will attend an approved school of higher education. Criteria: good character and citizenship, above average but not outstanding grades, participation in community service to a high degree, middle income parents who demonstrate need.
Dr. Charles R. Wolfe Memorial Scholarship ($1,000): Available to a senior who is pursuing their education in the field of medicine. Scholarship and character will be the qualities that must be exemplified. The selected student must be planning to become a physician.

Towanda Area High School Scholarship ($325): Available to a Towanda Area High School senior who is furthering his or her education.
Betty Morris & Joey Herman Scholarship ($150): Available to a graduating senior who has attended Monroe-Franklin Elementary School for a minimum of two years and who will be furthering his or her education.
American Legion Auxiliary Nursing Scholarship ($500): Available to a senior who plans to pursue a career in nursing and whose father or mother is a veteran.
Felix Mikus Scholarship ($500): Awarded by the Towanda Rotary Club to a deserving Towanda Area High School senior. Applicants must be in the top twenty-five percent of their class, have proof of financial need, and be accepted into an accredited post-secondary school.
Harold Q. Sherman Business Scholarship Award ($5,000): Available to a senior student graduating in the business curriculum, male or female, who is continuing their education in at least a two-year institution of higher education, who has demonstrated high financial need, and a high potential for success.
Harold S. Williams Memorial Award ($500): Available to a student who exemplifies an interest and talent in the general business field.
McCarthy Family Scholarship ($1,000): Available to a graduating high school senior planning to further their education. The student must be motivated and community oriented.
Vuriel S. Robinson-Browning Memorial Scholarship ($1,000): Presented to a student graduating from Towanda Jr. Sr. High School who plans to continue his/her education toward a baccalaureate degree or a post-secondary vocational or technical school certificate. The student MUST RESIDE in Towanda Township and show proof of residency.
CDK Perforating Scholarship ($3,000): Available to a senior from Towanda Jr. Sr. High School planning to further their education in Petroleum Engineering has a “good” GPA, involved in extra-curricular activities both in and out of school and volunteers doing work for charity. If there are no Petroleum Engineering applicants, any engineering major will be considered.
Kelly Laderer Memorial Award ($1,000): Available to a graduating high school senior pursuing a post secondary training in any trade offered at the Northern Tier Career Center. (i.e. health assistant, medical office technology, automotive collision repair, building construction, auto mechanics, diesel engine mechanics, computer technology, electrical occupations, cosmetology, food preparation, precision machining, and welding technology.) Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher and be accepted at an accredited college or trade school. This is a separate application. Applications are available in the Guidance Office.
Barbara North-Shaw Memorial Award ($500): Available to a graduating senior, who does not need to be an exceptional student, but who has chosen to pursue a bachelor’s degree. The student must have exhibited leadership skills and commitment to others through their involvement in extra-curricular and community activities. This is a separate application. Applications are available in the Guidance Office.
T.A.E.A. Scholarship: Available to a Towanda Jr. Sr. High School student who is furthering his or her education in the field of teaching. This is a separate application. Applications are available in the Guidance Office.
Aggie Hoffman-Griffin Wellness Award ($1,000): Available to a graduating senior who will be entering a college level program in health care. (Common health care majors include dietetics, exercise science, health/recreation/physical education, medical technology, nursing, occupational therapy, physical therapy, pre-med, and respiratory therapy.) The applicant must embody a health lifestyle, specifically he/she must be a non-smoke, and must act as a role model to other students. This is a separate application. Applications are available in the Guidance Office.
Diane Betts Diljak Memorial Scholarship ($250): Available to a graduating senior who has been accepted for admission at an approved school of higher education. The graduate must show academic promise and a show a strong commitment to community and extra curricular activities. This scholarship stresses good citizenship, a strong willingness to help those in need, a deep love of family, and a passionate love of live. This is a separate application. Applications are available in the Guidance Office.
Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1568 Auxiliary Scholarship ($250): Available to seniors entering the United States Military, any branch of service, male or female. This is a separate application. Applications are available in the Guidance Office.
