Frontier Communications (NASDAQ: FTR) is donating $1,000 in support of Towanda Area School District Education Foundation’s educational improvement initiative. The donated funds are part of Frontier’s participation in the Pennsylvania Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program (PA EITC) and promote innovative educational programs that enhance curriculum or academic programs offered by schools or other organizations in the Commonwealth.
The PA EITC offers tax credits to eligible businesses contributing to a state-approved scholarship organization, an educational improvement organization, and/or a pre-kindergarten scholarship organization. The businesses may direct their donations to specific organizations from a list of eligible participants listed on the PA EITC website.
In 2013, Frontier is donating $225,000 overall through the PA EITC program to support scholarships for private education and educational improvement initiatives approved by the state.

“Without the generosity of local companies like Frontier participating in the PA EITC program the school district would not have the funds to provide these innovative programs” said Doreen Secor, Foundation Treasurer.
