Walk to School Day

The Towanda Schools had a great turnout for the first Walk to School Day on Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2012.  We were actually a week ahead of the National Walk to School Day – but we were so excited to get walking, that we just couldn’t wait that long!  The kids always have fun walking to school and checking out the neighborhoods, leaves, and flowers we encounter on our walk.  It is always exciting to have guests and parents to walk with us.  Mr. Hennessey and his friend, “Moro” are always favorite walking buddies.  The District’s wellness council sponsors the walk days and all are welcome to join us on the first Wednesday of each month, with the exception of January and February.  We hope to have lots of students join us for our next walk on November 6^th.
