Threat at Towanda Jr/Sr High School

Today at dismissal, we received a call stating there was a bomb in the Jr/Sr High School. Shortly after, a call from the same phone number said there was NOT a bomb in the building. We emptied the Jr/Sr High School and cancelled all after school activities for the evening. Pennsylvania State Police arrived with a K-9 unit and searched the building. They have determined the Jr/Sr High School building to be safe for reentry. We are continuing our investigation, and hope to catch the individual responsible for this idle threat. We feel very confident with the information that we have gathered so far, and believe we know exactly what took place with this situation. I will say firmly that anyone caught making a threat against our school district will be dealt with appropriately with the school disciplinary code and through law enforcement. We definitely do not take these situations lightly, and the safety of our students and staff is extremely important to us.
