COVID Update 4/9/2021

The Jr/Sr High School currently has 5 positive cases that count towards Department of Education’s School Closure Matrix.   As a medium-sized building, the Jr/Sr High School would need to close for a period of 2-3 days with the onset of 4-6 cases in the building when Bradford County is in the Substantial category.  The Towanda Jr/Sr High School facility will be closed Saturday April 10 and Sunday April 11.  With contact tracing completed and the buildings cleaned over the weekend, the Jr/Sr High School will continue with in-person instruction on Monday, April 12.  Outdoor extracurricular activities are not impacted with these cases and will continue as scheduled.  All indoor activities are cancelled over the weekend due to the building being closed.  We will be resetting the school closure matrix on Monday following our building closure.

I cannot emphasize enough how much we need your help in keeping our buildings open. PLEASE do not send your students to school if they are not feeling well or you have a potential Covid-19 situation that could potentially involve them.  We would rather you err on the side of caution with these types of situations.

As a community, the key to our success is to continue working together as we strive to keep our students, faculty, and staff safe and healthy. Thank you again for working collaboratively with the district as we navigate through this public health crisis together. Stay safe and stay healthy.
