Students who are members of the Friends of Rachel Club have been hard at work on a project they chose to undertake in the first year of the club's formation. The Friends of Rachel's Club was formed after the Rachel's Challenge presentation that was held this past fall. The mission is to start a chain reaction of kindness and compassion. Rachel's closet offers new and gently used clothing and toiletries to students in need free of charge, and is located in the Jr. Sr. High School building. Many students and staff have donated clothes, which were then washed, sorted, and hung up by the students in the club. Several local businesses generously gave start up equipment and supplies. The Friends of Rachel Club was also awarded a grant by The Towanda Area School District Education Foundation which will assist with replenishing items needed in the closet. The Friends of Rachel Club would like to personally thank the following businesses for their generosity: Tractor Supply, Walmart, Kmart, and Peebles, as well as the Towanda Area School District Education Foundation.
